# Privacy and browser storage

## Game downloads

After Play, the browser downloads the engine and game data directly from cdn.nfsu2.org, backed by Cloudflare R2 and CDN caching. Small same-origin worker entry scripts keep browser storage and game saves associated with this site. Hosting providers receive normal request headers and IP information when delivering files.

## Local storage

Game profiles and registry settings use the browser’s origin-private file system. Downloaded game blocks use a separate cache directory. Storage belongs to this domain, browser profile and device; clearing site data can delete it.

## Backup and removal

Save backups are exported and restored locally. Quit the game before using backups. Clear downloaded files removes the game cache while retaining save profiles. A failed restore retains a recovery snapshot in browser storage.

## Accounts and online services

This version has no site account, multiplayer connection or cloud-save synchronization. It does not connect to the reference site’s multiplayer, cloud-save or player-count services.

## Plausible analytics

On our production website, Plausible collects visit statistics across all HTML pages, including this privacy page, the about page, and error pages. The analytics script and collection service are provided through our configured Plausible endpoint. These statistics help us understand page usage without tracking personal identities.

## Adsterra advertising

When advertising is enabled, Adsterra banner and native ads load on the home page, game details, guides, and FAQ pages. Ads are excluded from the about page, this privacy page, error pages, and the game runtime. Loading an ad sends technical request information to third-party advertising providers, which may use cookies and process device and browsing information to deliver and measure advertising. Their privacy practices also apply.

## Accounts and gameplay telemetry

This implementation has no account system. It does not send in-game gameplay telemetry or emulator save data to external analytics services.

## Third-party links

Links to the runtime source and browser documentation take you to external websites with their own practices. Visiting a link is separate from playing a locally running game in this site’s player.
